Colour and Form 1st April - 16th May 2010 Walford Mill Crafts in Wimborne, Dorset is delighted to present ‘Colour and Form’, an exhibition that brings together three artists of national importance who share a passion for colour.
Martyn Brewster is a print-maker based in Bournemouth. His work displays an ability to bring depth and vision through the striking use of colour, along with his passion to challenge concepts.
Phil Atrill compliments Martyn’s prints with his impressive pieces of studio glass, shot through with colour. Phil’s fragile yet powerful structural forms seem to almost challenge the forces of gravity.
Enthusiasm and expertise flow through the work of ceramic artist Peter Hayes. He commands and manipulates clay into bold, strong pieces, colour and form becoming an intrinsic part of his work. Curator Christine Lawry, working in partnership with the Crafts Study Centre, has put together an exhibition that unites three diverse disciplines: “The collaboration of three nationally important artists makes a powerful statement, as well as creating an explosion of both colour and form.”
'Colour and Form' runs at Walford Mill from 1st April until 16th May 2010. Those who miss the exhibiton here have another chance to view this beautiful collection of work at the Crafts Study Centre at Farnham, Surrey from 21st September - 30th October. From there the exhibtion moves to the Michael Heseltine Gallery at Chenderit School, Oxfordhire from November 8th - December 13th 2010. A catalogue including an essay to accompany the exhibition published by Walford Mill Crafts is available from the shop priced £5.
