Jesa Marshall Jesa's jewellery is reflective of her fascination with the imagery of dark fairytales and magical storytelling found in illustration, animation and film. Her designs are a fusion of precious metals and stones which combine to create beautifully intricate and often chaotic pieces. Using yellow gold, white gold and silver along witht the technique of twisting and fusing these precious metals together give the pieces a very natural form and an enchanted feeling. Her work is frequently accented with tiny handmade cast sculptures, words or illustrations, each of which is individually hand drawn and then etched into the piece. They are highlighted with texture, colour and stones often featuring articulated elements or cunningly disguised clasps. Along with Al's jewellery he also produces pieces from wood, different metals or a complete mixture of materials. These often take on the form of boxes, furniture or sculptures and as with his jewellery they frequently have a sense of humour or an unexpected twist. Being inspired by forms found in architecture, landscapes, manmade structures or anything that has flowing lines make his pieces far from conventional.
