Simon Pirie

After a recent move to a larger workshop, housed in a courtyard of attractive brick farm buildings near Bere Regis, Simon and a small team of makers are once again making exquisite bespoke furniture.

Simon Thomas Pirie makes furniture for private and corporate clients usually using English hardwoods, his work is a blend of contemporary form and classic elegance, combined with high quality craftsmanship.

Simon's first degree was in sculpture but a life long love of making things in wood convinced him to enrol at Hooke Park College, part of John Makepeace's Parnham Trust.   It was at this unorthodox but exciting college that he developed his design, making and business skills, as well as a strong interest in forestry and environmental issues.

"We pride ourselves on using beautiful hardwoods from countries with sustainable forestry policies and whenever possible use native timbers."

Visitors are always welcome to drop in for a chat over a cup of coffee.   The workshops are usually open during the week, although it is always best to phone ahead.   Appointments can often be made in the evening and during the weekends.
