Tamsin Watkins-Jones

Tamsin works in porcelain and has done since she was first introduced to Lucie Rie's work whilst still at school.

She likes simple forms that have a sculptural feel - in particular in stem bowls- and uses glazes with lots of depth and character to enhance those forms.

At the moment Tamsin is using a beautiful celadon glaze made from feldspar, Cornish stone and a small amount of black iron. The work is fired in a smoky atmosphere, which produces a wonderfully complex glaze, varying in colour from sage green, to duck egg blue.
