A Banquet at Walford Mill Crafts

August 1st - September 6th 2009

Walford Mill Crafts has prepared a major exhibition that features delicious looking craftwork for its visitors this summer, starting on August 1st.

‘The Banquet’ is a mixed contemporary craft exhibition that features interesting and unique creations by approximately fifteen local and national craftspeople. This mouth-watering exhibition showcases scrumptious looking cakes, ice creams, vegetables and fruit in porcelain and ceramics as well as glass and textile chocolates. Some of the feast is laden on a two meter long table especially made for this exhibition by Dorset based furniture designer and maker Simon Thomas Pirie.

Alongside the tasty looking craftwork, ‘The Banquet’ also features the essentials for a feast; ceramic plates, platters, sundae dishes and teapots, textile 3D cups and dishes, glass goblets and bottles, napkin rings, mugs and paper cutlery.

The decór includes chandeliers made of recycled objects by Madeleine Boulesteix, knife and fork chairs by Euan Cunningham, papier-mache figures by Peter Rush and many more.

All visitors are invited to join Walford Mill Crafts at their banquet. Take this opportunity to indulge yourself in a banqueting table to enjoy the feast, which will not threaten your waistline!

‘The Banquet’ will be on display in the gallery at Walford Mill Crafts until September 6th.
