Outside In: Surgery Day

Date: Jul 11, 2015 10:00:00 to 16:30
Details: Outside In is very pleased to announce that it will be collaborating with Salisbury Arts Centre on a project that will culminate in an exhibition later in the year. Together, they are looking for artists based in Wiltshire who feel they face barriers when it comes to exhibiting their art work.

Submissions will open on Monday 15 June 2015 and will close at 5pm on Sunday 30 August 2015.
A selection of artists will then be chosen to exhibit their work at Salisbury Arts Centre alongside a display by local Outside In artist and Ambassador Brian Gibson.

The theme of the exhibition is ‘Worth Fighting For?’
Does your work represent things or issues in your life, or within the world, that you feel are worth fighting for? Does it represent what’s important to you, what you value? You might have represented these ideas in an abstract way, or perhaps you have depicted them more obviously in your work.

Outside In: Surgery Day

Would you like to create an online gallery with Outside In, or know someone who would, but who does not have the skills or facilities to do it themselves?

Founded by Pallant House Gallery in 2006, Outside In provides a platform for artists who define themselves as facing barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation.

Artists who fit the Outside In criteria can create an online gallery, showcasing their artwork. At the Surgery Day we can support you to photograph and upload your artwork, help you write your artist statement, sign you up for your online gallery and submit work for selection to the ‘Worth Fighting For?’ exhibition if your work is relevant.

Venue: Salisbury Arts Centre
