| Digital Experience March 31 st - May 7 th 2007 Walford Mill Crafts has curated a special digital exhibition that will bring together some of Britain's most experimental craftspeople who engage with new technology and/or digital photography within their craft creations. Each crafts person involved in the 'Digital Experience' exhibition have developed their ideas using new technologies, testing and experimenting to achieve (and break) new boundaries to produce new and exciting work. The exhibition will include a wide range of textile craftspeople who will be exhibiting banners, hangings, framed pieces and even clothing. Work will also include jewellery, sculpture, glass panels and window blinds. Sophie Roet, one of the exhibitors, who is a Woven Textile Designer, will be exhibiting a very unusual dress that she created by bonding metal with fabrics. Sophie's work explores the marriage between simple structures and finishes and she uses a blend of both natural and synthetic yarns. She has introduced a special phosphorescent lining, which glows in the dark! Another exhibitor, Janet Stoyel, will be exhibiting some unusual window blinds where she digitally transferred images onto fabric. Janet has a wealth of experience in developing high-tech processes that include both laser and ultrasound. The other exhibits include textile hangings by Sonja Andrews, prints on canvas by Carol Dowsett, glass light panels by Milly Frances, digital light boxes by Paula Garcia Stone, aluminium jewellery by Lindsey Mann, textile jewellery by Ann Richards, glass light panels by Eleanor Read, 3D Sculptures by Michael Shaw, prints on silk by Vicki Wheeler, window blinds by Janet Stoyel and This fascinating exhibition runs from March 31 st until May 7 th at Walford Mill Crafts.
