Please Note: Booking is essential for all workshops and is done direct with the tutor.

Pre-booked Lunches: Our onsite cafe Happyccino offers a pre-booked lunch menu for workshop attendees, specifically designed so that it will be ready for you at a set break time. If you are interested in taking up this offer please contact your tutor to see whether they are participating in the scheme and for a copy of the menu. Sat 2nd Jul - Felted Soap - Catherine Marshall – Herbal Harmony


During the morning, you’ll learn to wet-felt wool onto soaps and you will have time to felt 3-4 soaps with colourful merino wool.

In the afternoon, you’ll be needle-felting pictures onto soaps, so you will have chance to create 2 soaps with pictures on them.
The price includes all materials to make 5-6 felted soaps. All the soaps provided on the day are palm oil free and handmade by Cat from Herbal Harmony.

Sat 9th Jul - Needlefelting 'Sitting Fox' - Fudge and Mabel

Fudge and Mabel are proud to present full day needle felting workshops in Dorset.

Come and learn a fun, therapeutic craft and use beautiful British Wool to make your very own needle felted character! Each workshop has a different topic and is held on a Saturday on various dates and venues - see list below or click on our WORKSHOP CALENDAR for full details.

The workshop will cover:

*preparation of the wool and traditional needle felting techniques

*materials, tools and safe use of felting needles.

*Wool/Fibre rolling techniques, basic shapes, plus hints and tips.

*’Stabbing' techniques and learning how to sculpt your wool into a 3-D creation.

From £55 per person - Includes a large supply pack with lots of wool, a foam mat, needles and finger guards. Bottled water is provided but please remember to bring a packed lunch. Workshops start from 10am and run through to 4:30pm, with a short break for lunch.

In this workshop you will learn all the skills and techniques needed to craft your own wooden spoons by hand, using just an axe & knife.

Jack Fazey has been working with wood for over 10 years, carving spoons for about 8 years, and teaching for even longer. In his safe, competent hands you will be guided through the safe use of the axe, sloyd knife and crook knife, as well as shown how to select wood for carving, keep your tools sharp and ultimately how to make some wonderful wooden spoons!

These fun, relaxed, highly regarded workshops run in various beautiful venues in and around Wimborne, Dorset.

Suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who may already have some experience, rest assured you will be guided through each step slowly, thoroughly & enjoyably!

Participants can expect to nish the day with a brand new hobby to continue at home as well as a lovely wooden spoon or two.

Sat 23rd Jul - Berry Basket - Nina Stockings

Make this beautiful berry collecting basket with a smooth tactile wrapped handle, just in time for collecting blackberries. During the day you will learn about how the willow is grow, harvested and processed. You will learn several key weaving techniques and choose from a selection of natural willow colours. Sat 6th/13th Aug Hat Making Workshop - Claire Richards

Here is your opportunity to learn a new craft with a RAFFIA HAT WORKSHOP. Saturday 6 & 13 August, from 10.00-14.00 on BOTH days - this is a two session course. Raffia is a beautiful material to work with, very flexible, therefore very forgiving and very welcoming of complete beginners. You will leave the workshop with a raffia hat, in your size....and had some fun and laughter while making it. This is a great opportunity to discover a new craft and work with a new material.

The raffia hat CRAFT WORKSHOP is run over 2 days. The usual format is for the days to be same time/place each week, so you will be with the same group of raffia students. Feel free to join the group alone, or to come along with friends. The workshop is always a friendly, welcoming environnment - with the emphasis on enjoying yourself while you are learning and making.

What can you expect at the workshop?

  • You will learn about raffia and its origin
  • How it can be dyed (you work only in natural raffia in the workshop)
  • The plaiting technique - right- and left-handed learners are welcome
  • Keeping your plait going - a hat is made from approx 8m of plait
  • Trimming your plait
  • Sewing your plait to the hat block in your size
  • Finishing your hat in one of the 3 styles possible
  • Pressing your hat


Durability of your hat - this is a very durable hat you can pack it, get it wet and enjoy it for years to come

Sat 27th Aug - Stacking Rings Workshop - Natalie Chan

In this full day course, held at the stunning Walford Mill in Wimborne Dorset, you will start at the very beginning with a brief introduction to the essential tools used by Silversmiths and jewellers around the world. The ‘Introduction to stacking rings’ course is designed for complete beginners who want to learn the basic silversmithing techniques. You will then go on to make 3 stacking rings (1 copper and 2 sterling silver) to either gift or wear with pride at the end of the day.

The course will include;

* Introduction to the tools of silversmithing and how to correctly use them to go onto making more goodies at home. (All tools will be provided on the day for you to use).
* Introduction to texturing metals; hammering, line hammering, stamping etc
* Introduction to measuring, cutting and preparing metals for soldering and joining.
* Introduction to filing, sanding, polishing and finishing - to achieve a professional finish.

On the day, once shown how to use the tools, how to achieve a textured surface and how to join metals, you will be guided through making 2 silver stacking rings and 1 copper ring for you to take home in your very own ‘I made this’ pouch.

My Raku Firing Experience Day is a fun introduction into the decorating and firing of Raku pottery.
You will decorate your choice of pre-made pots in one of four different Raku techniques; copper fumed Raku, naked Raku, glazed Raku or horse hair Raku.
You will then Raku fire your decorated pots creating your distinct finish.

This one-day workshop is perfect for beginners looking to learn a new technique.

You will be taught the principles of designing for print, how to separate your design into two colours, methods for cutting lino, and how to print a two colour reduction print on Robin's 1854 Albion press.
