Friday 20th November - Porcelain paper clay - with Deborah Clarke

You will explore a different type of clay. Porcelain paper clay has the pure white translucent properties of porcelain with the addition of paper makes it easier to work with and gives it strength and reduces the weight significantly making it the perfect material to use for your Christmas decorations and making necklaces and brooches. The strength given by the paper gives you the opportunity to create much thinner creations, ideal for creating tealight holders. In this one day session you will explore the clay, first creating a tealight holder, learning pinch pot and incising methods. You will be able to make a couple of Christmas decorations or brooches if you do not celebrate Christmas. There will be a break for lunch and you may like to book into the café onsite. In the afternoon there will be a range of coloured engobes for you to paint your creations before they are taken away to be kiln fired. Pre booking only. Additional clay can be purchased on the day.

Venue: Walford Mill
Date: Friday 20th November 2020
Time: 10.30am - 4.30pm
