Walford Mill Education Trust is a registered charity which promotes crafts and making through events, classes and exhibitions, and by providing working space for established and emerging makers.

In addition to the exciting and wide-ranging programme of workshops and regular classes which take place at The Mill, Walford Mill Education Trust aims to work within the community and with schools to deliver a diverse range of courses, workshops and projects.

We offer a variety of activities for schools and colleges, which can be individually tailored to meet the needs of the curriculum and can include gallery tours and craft workshops with a professional artist or maker. We can also assist in arranging residencies and school activity weeks.

In 2019 we opened our new education room, this is available for hire for use by workshops and seminars. The bright and airy room is situated on the ground floor of the Mill and is accessed via the main gallery entrance. The room is wheelchair accessible and has a sink for tutor's use.

Summer 2020 Due to the current need for social distancing the education space has been expanded into the adjoining gallery area to give a 2m+ spacing between student desks.  If you are uncertain about how this might affect your enjoyment of the class, do please come along and have a look at the class area any time the Mill is open.
