Christmas Card Lino Print

Come and join me for a laid-back Christmas Card Printing Workshop at the lovely Walford Mill in Wimborne. Learn how to design, carve and print your own cards to take home and send out for Christmas!  We will start with some warm up carving exercises to learn how to use the tools correctly and build your confidence, then progress to carving a small Christmassy design of your choice (I will have some templates you can use if the drawing part feels like a stumbling block!).  You will then print your design onto up to 8 A6 cards, learning the inking up process and burnishing your prints by hand with a spoon or my Woodzilla Press. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners or those who have dabbled in some lino printing before, and is less about the technicalities of printing, and more about getting in the Christmas Spirit, learning a new skill, and enjoying being creative with like-minded people!

Tea, coffee, biscuits and mince pies (of course!) will be provided, or if you prefer something extra yummy you can visit the Little Pickle Cafe at the Mill just across the courtyard. All materials and aprons will be provided, but if you can, please bring a rough design with you (approximately 10 cm x 7 cm max) that you would like to work from. We will have a maximum group size of 6 so that I can give everyone enough attention and you can get the most out of your session. Some Christmas music may even sneak itself onto my playlist! Feel free to bring your own lunch (or you can order the ‘workshop lunch’ from Little Pickle and they will bring it over to you!) Most people like to keep carving while they eat, but you can of course take a break away if you would like!
