Print and Make a Seed Head Lampshade
12th September 2026 ~ 10-4

About the workshop

Bring a soft botanical glow into your home with this immersive one-day workshop, where you’ll create your own beautifully handcrafted drum lampshade from start to finish.

Using my nature-inspired stencils, you’ll learn the art of stencil printing on fabric before transforming your design into a professional-quality lampshade for a table lamp or ceiling fitting. Combining two creative processes in one rewarding day, this workshop offers a rich and satisfying learning experience.

Working in a small, supportive group, you’ll be guided step by step with demonstrations, plenty of practice time, and dedicated one-to-one support throughout.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:

• Print onto fabric using pre-made botanical stencils including grasses, leaves & seed heads.

• Build confidence through guided practice, learn how to apply the paint for great results.

• Create a balanced, decorative pattern with support on colour choice and composition.

• Work with a curated selection of pre-mixed paints to achieve interesting layered effects.

• Construct a drum lampshade with a professional finish.

• Apply practical tips and techniques to achieve a high-quality result.

The morning focuses on developing your stencil printing skills, before moving on to printing your final lampshade fabric with guidance on composition and design. In the afternoon, you’ll construct your lampshade, with expert tips to achieve a refined finish.

By the end of the day, you’ll take home a completely unique, handmade lampshade — along with two valuable new skills and the confidence to continue creating at home.

All materials are provided, and the workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to expand their creative practice.

Aprons will be available on the day, but best to wear clothes you are happy to get mucky.

There will be morning and afternoon refreshments included, please bring a packed lunch with you. Alternatively book a Mill Deal Lunch Box at the Little Pickle Cafe
