Caroline Soer

Artist and Maker

Caroline is a multidisciplinary artist who lived for many years in various countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.   Now settled in Dorset, Caroline finds inspiration for her art in its coastline and countryside.

Caroline has a range of art works featuring botanical subjects. ‘ Botanical Impressions’ are monoprints in ink or paint on paper using pressed plants,  whilst plaster plaques are cast from fresh flowers and leaves.    ‘Nature’s Treasures’ are wall hangings, small sculptural pieces and framed works created from collected natural finds such as feathers and seed pods, or beachcombed seaglass, shells and seaweed.

Caroline paints in watercolour, gouache and acrylic, often combining these with collage to create mixed media pictures.  She also enjoys using fibres to create unique woven vessels and all kinds of paper for handmade books and cards.

Caroline runs several creative workshops at Walford Mill and at her studio in Ansty.
